Getting out of Delhi’s ‘Mosque Royale’, Jama Masjid from its southern gate leaves our eyes unbridled with a huge congregation of people. This lane is known as Sadak Matia Mahal and Baazar Chitli Kabra. The market is a delight for connoisseurs of food.  The street is full of the most ancient, authentic and famous food shops in Delhi. The best known among these food outlets is hotel Karim. The name Karim brings to mind a platter of lip-smacking food items like Mutton Korma, Chicken Tilla, Fish Fry, Sheekh Kabab, Shami Tikkia, Paye, Nahari, etc. Apart from Karim’s there are many other eateries, which are famous for various dishes. Hussain Murge wale, Chicken Fry, Aslam Chicken Tikka, Kamal Sweets, Shri Bhawan ki Desi Ghee ki Puri and Halwa, Kebabs of Kale Baba ,Tikka Sui Walan, Taufeek ki Biryani, Haveli Azam Khan Subrati ki Nihari, haveli Azam Khan, Pehalwan ke Gulab Jamun Revari ,various kinds of Samosas from Pahari Bhojla, Kallu ki Nahari, Chhatta lal Miyan, Puri-Sabzi of Fatak Teliyan, Ice-cream of Gyani, Daya Nand Road, Daryaganj Dilli Gate ki Kachauri and Break Pakoras are amongst other mouth watering dishes that the area boasts of.
