Mandir Bhairon Ji

By on March 18, 2014

Bhairon Mandir, also known as Bal Bhairon Mandir, is located in Koocha Ghasi Ram and was built during the last few years of the Mughal era. The Bhairon ki Murti in vermilion is so striking that it’s visible from even outside the temple. Idols of Lord Shiva and Parvati made up of white marble are placed inside the temple. The temple complex also accommodates small residential quarters where the priests live.

The temple is famous among patients of jaundice for its ‘Jaundice ka Chara’ on Thursdays — a belief that visiting the temple on a Thursday would cure the worshiper of the disease. On Sunday, the temple priests serve kheer (rice porridge) to worshipers.

The temple is looked after by the Kalkajee Mandir trust.
